RSPCA Pet Insurance Reviews from Australian Pet Owners
It’s all a scam to get your money when animals are young and healthy!
I was happy with the coverage 80% up to $20k coverage. But premiums increased significantly every year my dog got older. She is almost 13 and they are asking a ridiculous sum that I can no longer justify. On average I claim one small vet bill per year. I would have liked to continue to have pet insurance into her senior years, where it matters most, but RSPCA made sure that wasn’t going to happen. In the end, I have come to the conclusion that it’s all a scam to get your money when animals are young and healthy!
Tried to call back and had my call immediately hung up on. Absolutely pathetic!
Filled out a quote online a while ago and then received no less than 7 phone calls, from different numbers, throughout the past week. Quit wasting my time and harassing me via my phone!!! Disgusting behaviour. I’ll never take out insurance with RSPCA because of how they have behaved. I also tried to call them back to tell them to stop calling me, the bloke on the phone said he can’t help and then hung up on me. DISGUSTING. Tried to call back and had my call immediately hung up on. Absolutely pathetic!
Last years increase of 31% was bad enough but this year they've outdone that.
Last years increase of 31% was bad enough but this year they’ve outdone that. 35% increase with not a single claim made. I don’t know what planet the underwriters are living on but they certainly aren’t living on the same planet as my vet whose costs have only increased by just over 12% in the same timeframe. Why can’t the insurers who offer Pet Insurance offer a No Claims bonus like they do for car, house & contents etc. They know that with an older dog the choices are either put up with exorbitant price increases, take up another policy that still costs a lot but covers nothing or have zero cover. It’s called gouging and it is unconscionable behaviour.
My dog has been covered for 10 years now by RSPCA Pet Insurance (Hollard Insurance) and just received the annual renewal of $2760.00 per year.
My dog has been covered for 10 years now by RSPCA Pet Insurance (Hollard Insurance) and just received the annual renewal of $2760.00 per year. I love my dog and its extremely dissapointing to be taken advantage of when you have been loyal for so many years. Comparing this level of cover with other insurers I am paying 3.5 times. Other insurers are willing to cover my 10 yr old pet for a much less premium and I questioned this with RSPCA and they became extremely defensive not allowing me to interject then they disconnected the call. Call was made today 12/8/2025 12:13pm AEST.
