Knose Pet Insurance Reviews from Australian Pet Owners

Dreadful

December 24, 2025

Submitted reasonable claim, with history notes 28 May; 4 weeks later not so much as a word from them – and this despite emailing their Customer Service Now, waiting on their phone system, nothing short of verbal water torture.

IF YOU OWN FRENCH BULLDOG

December 24, 2025

IMO If you own a french bulldog, DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY. I will keep this brief as to this day it still has me amazed and angry. . Our baby went into vets for potential bowl obstruction , made claim which after 4 weeks of back and forwards and stalling KNOSE denied our claim due to some how unbeknown to our family or the vets was that somehow her condition was related to BOAS [Content Removed] believable KNOSE response to us questioning this was absurd and made zero sense. you hear stories about insurance companies finding any reason not to pay ,but to actually have it happen was a surprise to me in this day and age even Our vet was blown away on how they came to their conclusion.

Don’t trust their 5 day claim times

December 24, 2025

Terrible customer service sadly for an Australian company- My dog was signed up with Knose for over 2 years since 8 weeks old. He had seen the vet for vaccinations/ desexing and general puppy checkups. In that two years he hadn’t had an accident or pre exisiting concerns by the vets he had seen. Sadly he was found to have patella issues and I emailed Knose about this and they replied saying it wouldn’t be covered until they did a pre existing check and that they need documentation from all vets since he was born which was reasonable. The vets sent through their documents quickly to say it was never picked up as pre existing in their assessments. Knose then took ages to reply saying they had only received documents from 2 vets in the 2 years/ in which I replied “yes he’s only been to two vets in two years and has been healthy ”, it then took Knose ages to reply to that. Then again ages to respond to my reply, despite many emails to them following up the case. I have lost trust ever thinking it would take Knose 5 days to pay any form of claim let alone the cost of my dogs surgery which will have me out of pocket +++ for what Im guessing months with back and forth emails for them to most likely find a way to deny the claim. I removed my other dog promptly and signed up with another company offering the gap payment. As soon as I asked to remove my other dog from Knose they responded promptly asking why I was cancelling my policy/ yet it took them 2 months and more than 1 request to remove my dog. I really do hope when my Dog needs surgery that they process the claim promptly and I will be back to increase my rating experience. For now I have lost trust.

Shame I can’t give 0 stars

December 24, 2025

Buyer Beware. I just had a claim rejected by this lot as they claim it was a pre existing condition to which I disagree. If as a person I had a skin cancer on my left arm and then had one removed from my right arm, would this be preexisting? I don’t think so! They make you pay through the nose and the entity that is debiting my account has changed numerous times in the last year. The last 2 payments have been deducted from “PLANET FITNESS”, however it is supposedly a pet insurance company that my reputable veterinary clinic has never heard of! The claim process was also not 5 days, I had to follow up constantly and was asked for further documents which I sent immediately and 5 days later they had not been submitted yet when I called. I just joined RAC Pet Insurance and saved myself a considerable amount of money to what these con artists have been charging me. Taking advantage of pet owners at an already stressful time! I would give them no stars if this was an option.

Be careful.

December 24, 2025

I did a quote and Knose was quite cheap – until… when you actually go to sign up, they won’t cover you for ANY past injuries or illnesses your dog had, no matter how long ago or whether they have been completely cured for years. My Lab had a skin allergy 5 years ago that some medication cured. Nope, not covered under Knose if he gets it again. In the end, the quote covered me for very little. Be careful.

If you have an unlimited amount of money you have to spend on pet insurance then go for it

December 24, 2025

If you have an unlimited amount of money you have to spend on pet insurance then go for it, BUT if you don’t then go else where. I got insurance for my puppy and when looking it was probably the most expensive one of all but was rated highly so I went for it, not thinking that each year it could go up soo dramatically. My babies only just turned 4 and if I kept the same plan which was at the 90% cover then by now I would probably be paying about $150 a month. But I HAD to change it after one year because it practically doubled so i had to change the cover from 90% to 80% then had to increase the excess, and its just gone up again from $113.80 to $134.57. Its a ridiculous amount for one young pet. I don’t know how much longer i’ll actually be able to have the pet insurance at this rate. NOT HAPPY!!
