Fetch Pet Insurance Reviews from Australian Pet Owners
Don’t be fooled
Don’t be fooled by the self described “cute” app presentation, using bright colours and emojis to make it seem like they are your friendly next door pet insurance… My personal opinion and experience is that of a cynical and unethical insurance company that will manipulate and squirm out of any claim it possibly can. It is my personal opinion and experience that they do everything they can to Delay, then Deny and then even Defend rejected claims as a business model. Shameful.
They even tried to silence my review, emailing constantly and fighting to have my review taken down, and failing that, to have it censored. Again, appearing to attempt to squirm out of taking responsibility.
DO NOT switch to Fetch if you have existing pet health insurance.
DO NOT switch to Fetch if you have existing pet health insurance. They will consider EVERY vet visit ever as a “pre-existing condition”. Dog had rash on belly, wouldn’t cover it because of two visits related to itchy ears from over two years ago. I thought ok.. didn’t think two visits from over two years ago would be considered pre-existing but maybe thats just my fault for not checking. Checked what else they considered pre-existing and found ONE vet visit from 5 years ago when my dog was a couple months old. I couldn’t find an airpod and I panicked thinking my dog must have eaten it, got an x-ray to double check, silly me found the airpod in the garage the next day. Vet confirmed nothing was wrong with pup and she had (obviously) not eaten the airpod. Fetch now considers this “Pre-existing history of swallowing foreign objects”. There have been reports of people planting poisoned food out on the sidewalk in the neighbourhood specifically targeting dog owners. Cant imagine the stress I’d be under (financially and emotionally), if god forbid my dog ate something like this and it wasn’t covered by insurance because of something that happened 5 years ago that was practically a non-event.
Totally regret switching and do not recommend for anyone else considering a switch.
Be careful, it’s a scam !!
Be careful, it’s a scam !! Don’t use them … they make you pay for many many months (over a year) then do a pre existing condition report and remove most covers even most is nonsense! Stay away from them.
Genuinely the worst mistake you could ever make for your pets health is pick fetch as your pet insurance.
Genuinely the worst mistake you could ever make for your pets health is pick fetch as your pet insurance. Avoid at all costs. I’m convinced 99% of these reviews must be fake. After holding insurance with fetch for a year and a half, and never needing to make a claim until recently I never knew how poor and pathetic their service is. They have attempted to find every single loophole to not pay claims out, even to the point they have fabricated pre exisiting conditions – because a vet never listed the issue in the past? How can they justify that? If it has never been listed down as an issue in the past, that’s because it wasn’t an issue. They have attempted to list down pre existing illnesses as something that as never diagnosed by a vet from 5 years ago. They have zero way to actually contact anyone besides a chat log within an app, to which the customer service agents take forever to reply & pick and choose what to reply with. Ignoring the majority of what you have asked them. They have violated consumer laws in multiple ways and take zero accountability for it. The staff you deal with within this chat log have no knowledge of the laws they are meant to follow while operating an insurance company.
If I were anyone else, use any other insurance company and avoid fetch at all costs.
Worst experience ever! It’s been three months since I changed to Fetch
Worst experience ever! It’s been three months since I changed to Fetch and I have had one email after the next as they try and gather a history on my dog. That is only three years old that does not exist instead of paying a claim quite a small claim.! You get passed around from person to person. You can only contact them through email. It is almost useless trying to get any information seven weeks after submitting a claim and they are still trying to find another vet that does not exist to try and tell me that he has a pre-existing yeast infection in his ear what a joke. I was with BUPA originally I was recommended to change to Fetch. I will be changing back to BUPA ASAP. This has been a waste of time energy effort and money. Don’t waste your money people. Any service that does not have a direct phone number is a waste of time

Liars that will use anything avoid a claim. I bought their insurance as I had just come back from a holiday and our rescue was going to boarding house the week after. We ticked no pre existing conditions as she had none. 3 days later and we notice the normal scratching and itching may be worse than normal, so we go to vet. $400 later she gets a few creams and a shot.
I thought I’d submit a claim as the vet advised I couldn’t have known, and this is an sudden illness, not a disease or pre-existing condition.
They email me back and say they’re cancelling my plan and denying the claim because the vet had notes that she had itched (singular) before my plan started…
If i had to declare a dog scratching themselves as a pre existing condition then every dog in the world would have it every day…
