About Australian Seniors Pet Insurance

Australian Seniors launched in 1998 to meet the needs of the often-ignored over 50s market. Since then, we’ve helped countless Australians protect the most important things in life – whether it’s their family’s future, valuable assets, or even their long-planned retirement. We strive to be different by carefully selecting underwriters that share our vision of providing insurance that’s simple, easy to understand, and affordable. That’s why our policies have helped everyone from hard-working over 50s to self-funded retirees take control of the things that matter most.

Australian Seniors Pet Insurance Reviews from Australian Pet Owners

Let down

December 24, 2025

After my previous positive experiences with this company, I was surprised & disappointed to receive a massive hike in this year’s premium, a 30.2% increase which put the monthly insurance for my little dog above the monthly premium for my home insurance! None of the explanations given for this excessive premium “cut it”. As a pensioner, I had little option but to discontinue the policy. It seems as though, once a dog reaches an age beyond which a policy (with a new insurer, say) cannot be initiated, insurers effectively have you over a barrel. Not nice.

If only insurance was more affordable

December 24, 2025

Although I have 5 pets insured with Seniors Insurance, the process of adding my last 2 pets was not the easiest experience. Not the friendliest salespeople! Also, fair warning,my $1400.0 claim was rejected due to it being a pre-existing injury. My vet proved otherwise, but Seniors will not accept obvious proof. This was after insuring my 5th pet?!?! My 2yr old puppy! Unfortunately, Seniors are one of the very few affordablw companies that insures pets over 8-10 years old. Otherwise I would switch. Lastly the portal needs upgrading. It is not user friendly! For the amount I pay each month ,nevermind per year, Seniors should have its own tech department!
